At the Eco Events Hub in Chalkida, we do things a little differently—and proudly so. One of the most unique things about our workshops and weekly sessions is that they are all conducted in English.
Now, if you’re thinking:
“But my English isn’t good enough…”
Take a deep breath and let us reassure you: You don’t need perfect English to join in. You just need curiosity, a willingness to try, and a love for creativity. Let’s explore why this choice matters, and how it opens up something truly special for everyone.
Why English?
We’re based in beautiful Chalkida, Greece, a city rich with local character, but also with a growing international presence. Whether you're a local looking to improve your English, an expat craving connection, or a digital nomad passing through, the Eco Events Hub aims to be a creative home for all. (You can read more about why we created The Hub HERE)
Running sessions in English allows us to:
Connect cultures through creativity
Include international participants
Create a safe, informal space for language learning
Spark a more global kind of conversation right here in Chalkida
For Greek Participants: Casual, Creative, and Confidence-Boosting
If you’re Greek and feeling hesitant about your English, we get it. But here’s the thing: our sessions aren’t formal classes. There are no exams, no red pens—just paint, clay, fabric, thread, and imagination.
For adults, it’s a fun and pressure-free way to practice English in a real-life context. You’ll pick up new words and expressions without even trying, simply by being part of the group.
And for kids? It’s a fantastic opportunity to reinforce what they learn in school—only now, it’s through art, laughter, and play. English becomes something exciting and expressive, not stressful or intimidating.
For Internationals: A Creative Home in a New Place
If you're living abroad, traveling, or working remotely, you’ve probably experienced how hard it can be to find English-speaking communities—especially outside major cities.
That’s why we created the Eco Events Hub. It’s a place where international voices are welcomed and where creativity becomes a bridge between people and cultures. Whether you’re here for a week or a year, you’re invited to explore your creative side, meet new people, and feel a sense of belonging far from home.
A Brain Boost
Did you know that creating art and using a second language both help keep the brain active, agile, and healthy?
Combining the two has powerful benefits:
🧠 Boosts memory and focus
🧠 Encourages flexible thinking
🧠 Reduces stress and builds resilience
It’s good for your mind, your mood, and your confidence.
A Shared Language of Creativity
Ultimately, the Eco Events Hub isn’t just about what we create—it’s about who we create it with. By running our sessions in English, we open the door to a more inclusive, diverse, and vibrant creative community right here in Chalkida.
We’re proud to offer a space that brings people together across languages, cultures, and generations. Whether you’re fluent, learning, or somewhere in between, there’s a place for you here.
Throughout September we will be running 4 weeks of taster sessions - a warm up and a trial. Come check out the space, the sessions, the vibe - we're sure you'll love it, we want you to feel confident to step outside of your comfort zone - it's where the magic happens!
